The Washington Commanders will kick off the 2025 season with a home matchup against the New York Giants. Here's everything you need to know about the matchup.

QUICK FACTS

For the fourth time in franchise history, Washington will host New York to open the season. Washington is 2-1 in the previous three matchups and it's first occurrence since 2011.
Last season, Washington went 2-0 against New York with wins in Weeks 2 and 9.
Since 2020, Washington has won four of its last five home openers, most recently in Week 2 last season against New York.
This is the first time Washington will open its season at home against New York in back-to-back seasons since 1957-58.
Washington is 12-16 in franchise history in Week 1 against divisional opponents.
Since 2024, Washington posted a 7-2 record at home and finished with the most home wins in a season since 1991.
Washington is looking to win three straight games against New York for the first time since 1998-2000.

WHERE TO WATCH THE COMMANDERS ON TV

The Commanders broadcast for Week 1 will air on FOX. Kevin Burkhardt will be the play-by-play announcer with Tom Brady as an analyst and Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi as the sideline reporters.
