Lamar Jackson Skips Thursday Practice Ahead of Crucial AFC North Showdown
Lamar Jackson will not get a full practice week, as he sat out Thursday just three days before the Ravens’ pivotal showdown with the Steelers for first place in the AFC North.
Jackson took part in Wednesday’s practice—the first time he’d been on the field at the start of the practice week since November 5. However, he participated in a limited capacity and then wasn’t available to reporters afterward due to ongoing treatment.
The quarterback is dealing with an ankle issue, which led to his absence from Thursday’s session. Over the past three weeks, he’s dealt with knee, ankle, toe, and another ankle injury, and he hasn’t completed a full week of practice in a month.
Jackson just wrapped one of his roughest performances of the season, turning the ball over twice with a fumble and adding an interception.
Ravens defensive tackle Travis Jones also did not practice Thursday, citing personal reasons.
Wide receivers Rashod Bateman (ankle) and Devontez Walker (groin) shifted from full participants on Wednesday to limited participation on Thursday.
Cornerback Nate Wiggins (foot), safety Ar’Darius Washington (Achilles), and outside linebacker Tavius Robinson (foot) were limited for the second consecutive day.
